Hi, Y'alll!
I finally got into the google groups to catch up!
since last November I have been diagnosed with diabetes. The dr feels this is a complication from my Hashimoto's disease. With that, I was found to have high cholesterol, and was put on a high dose of Lipitor. after a few weeks, my whole body ached and my feet and hands were of the least use.(later I found out that muscle damage is a side effect of this med) so, I voluntarily went off the bloody medicine and since then have been doing physical therapy to regain any strength lost. it's taken this long to get any back. I am slowly mending, and am back to work, but have completely stopped hand sewing and hand quilting. it is a true painful effort to even sew a button on a shirt. I have resumed sewing by machine and am finishing up projects.(my wonderful daughter does all my rotary cutting, until I hope I can get back to a somewhat normal state.)
I hope all of you had a terrific year and accomplished much! I am hoping to check in here at least once a week from now on. I miss you girls!!

Those statin drugs can be very bad stuff. They are a wonder for some folks, but not everybody by a long shot.
I've a grandmother who died after being put on them. She went from going out dancing every week, to bed ridden, to dead, in three months. Nowadays they don't prescribe them for anyone over a certain age. I've also got a handful of relations on that side who started taking them, suddenly got a tentative diagnosis of assorted neuromuscular diseases, and then died of kidney failure before the testing was completed. I just flat out refuse to take the stuff. Drives my doctor bonkers. I did find something that works though, drives the doctor even crazier, but she says as it works keep taking it.. Spice capsules, my DH fills 00 capsules with one part cinnamon, one part ginger, and one part cayenne. I take two twice a day, and it has dropped both my cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Works for me, YMMV. Your tummy may not be able to handle it, that is a powerful concentration of hot spice all at once. It might work as well just changing you diet to incorporate those spices a lot. I do not know.

Hello Amy,
Missouri Star Quilt Co. has a tutorial out on this chicken. You might try to google it. www.missouristarquiltco.com/chicken pincushion

Just type the whole line in because for some reason my computer will not highlight anything after dot com. You do need the chicken pincushion in there too.

Thanks Nightmist. I do use those spices, some daily.i am very slowly getting back to a somewhat normal state. I have to follow a strict diet and monitor my glucose levels closely.

I found the pattern.. thanks, ladies.
