Rubber Cement on Fabric?
I crafted a new shade for my lamp. Not having any fabric "glue", I used
rubber cement. It is a small shade and appears to have bonded the lightweight cotton fabric (fused with interface) quite well to the template. But will this eventually fall off? If I were to get fabric glue, what brand do I get? Or better yet, can I MAKE my own glue for fabric? Thanks. |

It might, but I suspect it will probably hold up as well as fabric glue would have. -- Kathy |

Be sure it is thoroughly dry before you light the lamp........it is
flammable! "Kathy Morgan" wrote in message .. . "RLK" dashes_ wrote: I crafted a new shade for my lamp. Not having any fabric "glue", I used rubber cement. Thanks for the heads up, I will certainly take care with it the next time!
Well, so far the lamp shade has held up remarkably well. The lamp is in use in the evenings and the fabric hasn't budged. For peace of mind, I'll probably go and get the real stuff next time...
