Default torch question

This has probably been discussed in other threads. But...

Any have any opinions on a:
Nortel Midrange Plus With Minor Top Surface Mix Torch

I am a newbie...and still using my hothead. I have bought a propane tank
and an oxygen concentrator waiting to be used...now I need my torch.

Any other brand/type suggestions? I will be using soft glass...no
borosilicate type glass.

I used a Midrange Plus until I recently upgraded to a Barracuda, and for
the money you simply can't beat it. IMO there is no comparable torch on
the market that gives you similar performance for the price. I used the
top burner for soft glass beads and the bottom burner for boro, and
even on two concentrators it really cooks. It's an efficient torch and
gives great performance with natural gas. It's also a workhorse...
Nortel torches are bulletproof. And coming back to the price... well,
you just can't touch it. I think it's an overlooked serious contender in
the mid-range (ha) torch market. For that matter, though I love my
Barracuda and there are a few details about the performance that do make
it a better torch, it wasn't a big step up.
