I just finished a complete re-design of my workshop, moving tables and
glass racks around, added in a fusing station just for warm glass work,
and splurged on a few new tools/gadgets that I've been eyeing for
awhile.

Now that my workspace is ready to go, I'm just about to get started on
a 3-panel fireplace screen. I've already designed pattern (in an art
noveau style with the help of GlassEye 2000), purchased all my glass
and lead came, and am just about to start the cutting and assembly of
the first side panel.

I'd like to have it all completed by Summer, but that's pretty much pie
in the sky right now. It must just wind up being an early Xmas present
to myself....haha

I like your site, actually... don't go thinking you need a lot of bells
and whistles, 'cause when you're selling things all you really need is
good pictures and a way to buy the stuff! Looks like you have both. I
love those cherry blossom non-chimes.

Glass is seductive, isn't it? It's not so hard to risk going hungry when
a siren like this calls.

Just finished Images in New Smyrna Beach and had a total blowout. biggest
two day event we have done.

http://www.starpath-designs.com (I know pretty crappy site)

Myself and wife do this full time, both quit good jobs to try this. Never
looked back but I will admit the first year was very lean.

I was wondering what kinds of projects people are currently working on?
I make beads and some fused work, bowls, jewelry pieces and etc. but the
most interesting (ie "challenging") thing I've done lately is making
small magnifying paperweights that consist of a clear core, a design in
a sort of "tube" inside the weight, and a flat, polished bottom. You
look down through the tube to see the objects beneath magnified.

That sounds really cool... can you post pics, when you're done? It makes
me wish I still had a fireplace (the old old house had one, the new old
house doesn't!)

Just finished this one Sunday:

A birdbath made with glass, gold leaf, and copper.
Would liked to have slumped the bowl, but my kiln is a little too
small.

They were cut based on a 35" circle but waved back and forth across the
line. They were draped over a dome fiber mold so they have a
handkerchief effect. The pieces were ordered by a metalworker and he
will finish them. They're for a store in Park City. I'll post pics after
they're installed.

Fusing actually will be red and black with white accents should be nice.

That sounds like a cool project! Are you fusing it, painting it,
sandblasting it, or something else?

WOW, that is HOT! I love it. Do you often do pieces like that, or was
that a one-off?

pond/fountain... interject impressed swearing here that is gorgeous! I
am in some serious pond envy right now.
