Default Fringes On Afghans?

Hi everyone:

I am "finally" on my last steps of my daughters shades of blue afghan. She
has requested that I put fringes on the points across either end.
I'd be interested to have some input as to how long I should make those
fringes. I personally don't like them on an afghan but she insists. (they
bug my face when I'm sleeping lol)!

TIA
Donna from Ontario, Canada

Well why don't you ask your daughter how long she wants the fringe, seeing
that it will be her afghan.
I myself don't like the fringe, unless on a scarf. but did a search, and
found this pillow that had 6" fringe:

Good luck... Maine-iac Rose

Hi Donna,

I have to agree with Rose to ask your daughter the lenght she wants.
Congratulations on getting that close to finishing it.

Hugs,

I assume since it has "points" across either end it isn't a flat rectangle
all the way around.

Why don't you put some kind of tassles in each point?

Or just take a few strands of yarn, (length and number of strands depending
on how you want it to look,) and just knot them in the points like you would
do with regular fringe? Gather up, say, 5 to 10 strands of yarn cut to
about 10 to 15 inches long, fold them in half, and fringe the tips of the
points just as you would do for regular fringe, except you're using more
strands of yarn in each fringe.

Sorry - sometimes I don't explain very well. :-/
