Default Thanks and pictures

Last month I posted a question about cutting strips for a futon cover I
was working on. Just wanted to say thanks for the tips. My strips
ended up reasonably straight. And here's a photo of the cover and my
sewing room in general. I know you guys are pretty talented sewers here
so you probably won't be too impressed with my futon cover but my sewing
room should make some of you drool a little. I'm really pleased with it
and it's a joy to work in.

Dawn, that's terrific. But, but, but...how do you manage with only
*one* sewing machine??? ;-)

That was a great job on the covers and the sewing room is fabulous.

I'm only talented enough for one sewing machine. I have to summon up my
courage just to change presser feet.

From what I see, you have waaaay more talent than you give yourself
credit for. At a minimum, you could add a serger. ;-)

Very nice job! I have a similar chair and ottoman and a couch -- want
to come over and cover them for me? I have a bolt of Ultra-suede-type
fabric to do it.

Your sewing room is entirely too neat! And dark. You do need more
light in there, the dark furniture adds to the darkness, but you are
wonderfully organized. You do need a serger and at least one or two
"spare" machines. At least one Featherweight, perhaps, to decorate the
room. ;-)

Now, feel free to clutter it up a bit with Works in Progress!

And a treadle! There plenty of room for a treadle in your lovely room.
I do like the futon! Excellent stuff!

Beautiful room, Dawn. Love the polished wood cutting/project table.
Watch the halogen light fixture. We had one; they are a true fire
hazard, and produce a tremendous amount of heat, making your air
conditioner work hard.
I found that working under such a lamp dried my eyes out and made
them ache. Other halogen owners have complained of the same problem. I
tossed my halogen lamp after a moth flew over it and burst into flame
on the wing."True daylight' bulbs are an excellent substitute.
Lovely room. Shall I send you some sewing clutter?

Hi Dawn,

That's a beautiful chair! Looks like a great place to balance a cup of
coffee. Beautiful room too and I agree with the others, it's time to add
another sewing machine to the space. Good luck with your next project. I
enjoyed your "Blog" page too.

Liz
