I wouldn't trust evacuation centres after the floods here recently!
Honestly they had to evacuate the evacuation centre because it was right
next to the river which was the problem!!! Helllllooooo!? Anyone?

the sky is red. ash is falling. i can smell the smoke. they have
fire engines every 1/4 mile along Highway 70 to try to keep the fire
from jumping the highway. if that happens, trust me, i'm OUT of here
and headed for Sacramento and Johnny's place - taking Oran and Grace
with me!

Best be safe than sorry! Good on you... Get out of there while you can!
Possessions can be replaced... People can't!!!

Not according to the CDF info site.
Closest is the "Bear incident" in Jones Valley near Lake Shasta.
Not to say one will not start soon with this crazy weather and human
stupidity. The bear fire was started by a guy with a riding mower cutting
high weeds. The mower was the first victim.
