Default OT wedding apparel

Ok, you guys know most everything. Is there
an 'in' color or style for weddings this season?
Last one I went to everyone wore black (me included)
I hope that trend is over.
Thanks, Taria

Here in the UK it seems that brides are in cream/ivory/parchment rather
than pure brilliant white, and red/burgundy seems to be the 'in' colour
for bridesmaids.

Didn't people used to threaten to wear black to someone's wedding if they
didn't approve? I never understood the black-at-weddings thing...

Style? - It seems flesh has been in for a while. No sleeves, sometimes no
backs, often strapless. I suppose it saves on expensive material but then a
lot is spent on tanning one way or another. :-) The last time I saw a
collar or a cuff on a wedding dress ....well I can't remember.
JJ - (ok I had a boat neckline & 3/4 sleeves ending with a flounce on dress
hem & sleeve. Shows my age. :-) )

Bride is wearing creamy colours in silk chiffon (floaty - not the
traditional stiffer style), hasn't got as far as hair yet - flowers?
and this mother of the bride will be wearing whatever fits and looks
ok when she eventually gets round to dress purchase.2nd Sept wedding
so must get on with it soon, but shop I am going to specialises in
that sort of thing and doesn't go by the seasons like most places
where you can only buy winter things up to December when the summer
things come in, and Summer up to June, then winter woolies. They are
expecting a new delivery in the middle of this month, so will go after
that. It will not be black.

The wedding we went to in June the Bride wore a creamy colored gown (she had
the whitest skin I have ever seen) and the attendants wore Eggplant colored
gowns. They were beautiful. Linda

Taria:

For whom do you need the info? Bride? Attendants? Mothers of the couple?
Generic Guest?
Saw some pictures of a recent wedding. Attendants wore black dresses,
and the guests were in varied colors. Muted tones were predominant.

I was at a wedding a couple of weeks ago. Bride wore strapless cream
colored dress. Bridesmaid wore a halter style pink dress. Female
guests (having been told the style was "outdoor formal" on the invite)
wo many sundresses in every color of the rainbow, several dressy
pantsuits were spotted, and a few of those chiffony skirts with little
tops or short sleeved sweaters. Only one dress I recall had a black
print with a pale blue background and one sequin covered sun dress in
black. I'm not big on the black trend myself but it's pretty hard to
find a dress that isn't black.

I was asking about me. My nephew is getting married. I sort of
am curious about the trends generally too. When I went to a wedding
a couple of years ago everyone but a couple of women had on black
dresses. ( I had heard here black was the going thing so I wore black)
It just seems a little odd to me but I don't want to stick out like
a sore thumb.
Another question. Last wedding I went to none of the women in the
wedding wore stockings. Not even the bride. Am I just an old
fashioned fuddy duddy?
