Well, it was new four years ago, so I suppose it's still "new"... ;-) my softwear is 8 years old--PE Design version two or three...so, what softwear are you using, and do you digitize? if so...ease of use, all those good things for idiots like me grin My machine is the Singer Quantum XL5000. I finally bought PSW2.0a software and the reader-writer box. I use it extensively for digitizing, but mostly for my own pleasure and for projects like the soccer warm-ups for DGD's team: http://home.comcast.net/~bei.designs...D-3526842.html and my denim shirt with Celtic knots: http://home.comcast.net/~bei.designs...D-3479068.html as well as several Disney (shhhh, don't tell anyone) designs for my personal use. The instruction manual is frightful...translated from something (Greek?) into English by a not-fluent translator, and never proofread IMHO. However, using a lot of trial and error, I have worked my way up to creating quite a few original designs, and they have stitched out well. PSW has the ability to "save as" several mainstream embroidery formats. There are several PSW packages offered right now on eBay at under $600, I bought mine for $1200. Here is a link to information about PSW, (the Singer site is lacking): http://www.allbrands.com/products/abp07270.html\ I also own an activated copy of Embird basic, but I have not paid for their digitizing option: http://embird.com/ I like Embird for many things, but for actual digitizing I use PSW. thanks so much... betsey You're welcome, HTH, NAYY, Beverly |

Send me a .bmp or .jpg, I'll give it a look-see. My e-mail works, just de-munge it: beidesign [at] comcast dot net Beverly |

Also, I'll need to know what embroidery format to "save as". We can discuss the other details by private e-mail. Beverly |
