Default Finally back again.

Well, I finally have had a few moments to myself and can get back into
some serious quilting. I went back to work full time for 6 months back
in Dec. The week before Christmas (What was I thinking).
Once that was over, DH and I went on a much deserved vacation which
started out with the motorhome breaking down a half hour after leaving
home so back home we came and Dh set upon tearing it apart then driving
into the city for parts the next morining. He had it running again by 10
the next night. So off we go again and 4 hours into the trip I went oh
no I left my $^%#%^ purse at home with all our cash in it. We stopped at
the nearest phone and phoned our daughter who very nicely had it UPS'd
to our destination. DH was nice about it and said if that is the only
trouble we have you can forget your purse every time we go on vacation.
(We had a fire on the second day of vacation last year).
After spending 10 days there we went back and propmptly took our DGD and
DD out on GDG"s first camping trip.
I went back to work for 4 days when the call came from my DS that our
second Gbaby was goung to be born the next day by C-section a day after
her due date. (Baby refused to turn around and come out the right way).
So off we went in the motorhome with our DD and DGD to welcome the new
baby and help out the very newbie parents.
They didn't want to know what the baby was until the delivery so on Aug.
27 about 11:30 a.m. Brinneal( DS says it's gaelic for little beauty)
Bella(for her mom's grandma) Donna( after me) arrived safe and sound,
weighing in at 8lbs 14 oz. Mom weathered the ordeal well too. Baby Brinn
as this grammy has taken to calling her lost a bit of weight so a nurse
goes to visit every day now that they are home. We stayed a week and
this interferring MIL steam cleaned the carpets, scrubbed walls and
purchased some much need essentials like food for Mom and Dad (He's
still a starving student) and Took my DDIL out for a quick bit of
shopping just for her. I forced her to pick out some new clothes that
weren't maternity ones. Of course baby Brinn and toddler Taya got some
new duds also.
During this busy season I did manage to start and complete 3 quilts and
have one top finished but am searching for just the right backing. I
have bought enough fabric to finally say I have a stash!!! Yahoo The new
problem is trying to find places to store it.
My DD and DGD leave for University next week so Dh and I will be back to
2 again. I am now working a job share position... 2 weeks on 2 weeks off
and no more evening shifts. Yahoo! this is like semi- retirement. I
feel a bit guilty reducing my hours but now that I have grand kids to
visit and make quilts for I am sure I'll be able to find something to do
with my time off.
P.S Brinn's official baby quilt is a pastel pink and blue grandmother's
fan with yellow centers on a wow background. I finished it last week and
in my rush to get ready to go to see her I forgot to take a picture of
it. My son said that he will take some for me and I'll post them later.

Busy? My gosh! Congrats on the new DGD, and on being a wonderful MIL.
Can't believe you finished three quilts during all that! Did you sleep?

Awww...she's adorable! And the quilt is so appropriate, since it's from
a grandmother. Beautiful quilt, beautiful baby -- a perfect match.
