I've seen them in craft stores like AC Moore and even in a Joann's I think.
Try your local craft stores. Have fun making them!

If you live in Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin, you can get them at Farm
and Fleet stores.

If not here is a pretty cheap place to buy them and remember they come 2
pair in a package.

If you have a Dollar General store by you, they have a pack of 4 white
and gray socks for $5 that would be just perfect.

The other day I saw sock monkey kits at Wal-Mart. It
included the socks, instructions and a pet for the sock
monkey. The price was $10.

I've been collecting sock monkeys for many years. I rescue old ones
from flea markets and yard sales. I even have a shirt and mug with a
picture of my sock monkey family with the words, " New Hampshire Sock
Monkey Rescue League".

One year my minister asked all of the church families to bring in a
Nativity set from home so that we could see the various designs, I toyed
with the idea of making a nativity scene of sock monkeys, I even have a
tiny baby sized one, a female sock monkey for Mary, and enough others
to be angels and wise men, etc. I obviously didn't do it, out of
respect for the more traditional of our congregation.. Actually, my
minister is pretty cool, and she would get a kick out of it, just not in
church.
