So what is a Lovett's Loop?

Ah - got my answer yesterday - it was invented by Amy Lovett, the designer
and is best described a cross between a cross stitch and a loop. The
verbiage to make a "under stitch with a half inch hanging down" and do a
regular cross across it to anchor it.

I'm going to practice with pearl cotton and start the kit.

I'm glad you got the answer. Now, if I ever come across this again I'll
remember having seen an explanation for it, but I'm quite sure I will forget
what that explanation was. lol

Sounds kind of like a "twisted chain" stitch. There is also a "Reverse
Chain" stitch. I'll try to explain them later - but they're the stitches
we've just been learning in the Thistle Threads Tudor/Stuart Goldwork Master
Class. Lots of chain stitch variations.

I don't remember if there are open to the public diagrams on her site, but I
know there are some others. The twisted one is essentally done by crossing
the legs of the loop - not a good explanation. But, maybe I'll do a quick
diagram and put it on RCTNP. Or try to describe it better here.
