Default OT...health update

Seen the dr today. She is sending me for a colonoscopy but she said it
could take some time to get it. Until then to follow a diet for
irritable bowel. Gave me some meds to help. She said cancer is a
possibility but the tests will say one way or another. None of this
surprises me but I feel a little down cuz why am I always the one
getting sick. My husband hasn't been to a dr in 12 yrs. Not that I think
that is a good thing either. It will just take some time to adjust to a
new way of eating. Thanx to all that replied to my posts. It helps to
have someone out there.

I'm glad you're getting some answers. Women are much more likely to
go to a doctor when they have a health problem - just because your DH
isn't going, that doesn't mean he's 100% well all that time. My
father died of colon cancer, and he hadn't been to a doctor in at
least 10 years when it was discovered (it had then spread to other
parts of his body). The doctor said he could have lived another 10
years, if it had been caught early.. but my dad was the "you only go
to the doctor to die" generation.

Really glad you went to see the dr. Joanna. Hopefully
the diet will help and the colonoscopy will show you
are ok.
Hugs, Taria

Seen the dr today. She is sending me for a colonoscopy [...]

It is beginning to seem like EVERYBODY here is spending as much
time being sewn up as sewing...

Me, I had my gallbladder out on Thursday after an acute gallstone
attack the previous week (no big problems, back at work tomorrow).

Glad to hear you're OK, Jack! Mine will probably have to come out one of
these days, so I feel sensitive whenever I hear about a sufferer!

I've got to have mine out too. Not sure when yet, hopefully before
Christmas. I will be glad to have an end to those painful attacks - they
weren't frequent about once or twice a year, but this last one hung around
for nearly 2 months.

I don't know how strict you're irritable bowel diet is, but I found it
didn't take a whole lot of getting used to. Mostly I learned to
substitute things like brown rice for white and more beans, fruits, and
veggies and less meat. Better for me all around even without the IBS.
