Default Origins Embroidery Software Warning - Used copies can't be registered!Support Group Formed

Many used copies of Origins Embroidery Software are currently being sold
on eBay and other Internet Sites. According to the Origins company, NO
used copy of Origins can be transferred to a new owner. 2nd hand owners
are not able to upgrade, unable to get any support at all, or access the
Online Website resources at Origins. It doesn't matter if you bought
Origins from a retailer a week ago for $1750 and decided you didn't like
it, and sold it to a friend; the new owner will get NO support.

My wife bought one of the so called "classroom copies" on eBay, from a
seller who made all kind of claims about it being repackaged by the
manufacturer, etc... Once registered at Origins, here account was
disabled and she receive a polite "you have an unauthorized copy" email.
Many eBay sellers are intentionally allowing their buyers to believe
they are buying copies that are "repackaged by the manufacturer". They
know they are bending the truth. Many of the auctions are now "private
auctions" to hide the IDs of the buyers.

We have formed a support / information group at Yahoo Groups, for people
who have already purchased, or are considering purchasing, a used copy
of Origins Software. It is called Origins_Orphans.

Agains, only if you purchase a brand new copy from an authorized retail
dealer's store, can you receive any support from Origins. The Origins
company has further said that authorized copies of Origins are not sold
over the Internet, but rather only at retail locations.

We are Origins Orphans!

Why do people have to "register" their software? To give more confidential
information to the retailers? People are lambs being lead to slaughter!
Read the license agreement. Most if not all software allows you to transfer
ownership. If Origins LA says this, you can legally sell it whether they
like or not, with support.
How do they know your copy was resold? Did you volunteer this info? Shame on
you.
