Xyron Repositionable permanence?

I'm still one of the holdouts who has the original Xyron 500 and didn't
upgrade to the 510. I decided to keep the 500 till it breaks or till I
can't get refills.

Today I saw some refills on sale at JoAnn's. I bought the permanent
refill they had. They also had repositionable refills.

Is it true that the items you used with the repositionable refill
becomes permanent or nearly-permanent after you let it sit undisturbed
for a few days? Or is it always removable like a Post It?

I bought 3 of the repositionables and kept the receipt so I was curious
as to your thoughts on that refill.

Hi Nancy, I am normally just a lurker however I did not see a reply to your
question so thought I'd put in my 2 cents.
I use the repostionable all the time. I have the X-box as well as the 510 &
900 Xyron. I use my 510 with the repostionable ALL the time. I have found
that after a while the repostionable does seem to become nearly permanent.
I really like using the 510 over the 900 with the repostionable as I
make/use alot of embellishment/frames for my scrapbook pages and cards and
it's just the right size. If your really uncertain use one of the
cartridges and "test" it out. That way you're not out alot of money if you
don't like it and you can return the other 2.

I have the older Xyrons, 500 and 850, and the new little 150 X-box.

I *finally* did open one of the 3 repositionable boxes and starting
using it, and I'm having great fun with the repositional. I made a few
tiny stickers out of a scrap of gorgeous paper and moved them onto my
daily to-do lists. After a few days, I found an old list and it was
hard to remove the scrap. I like the way it started to become more
permanent.
I'm going to keep all three refills and enjoy using them.

Someday I hope to upgrade to the 510 and 900 Xyrons like you have, but I
can't justify the expenditure now when the old ones are still working
well.
I think Xyrons are the greatest, and none of my liquid glues,
Mono-Adhesive, Chartpak, or the little rolling dispenser of glue squares
can compare to the professional perfection of the Xyron.

Hi, all,

You may all know this, but I'm a little slow, it seems. I have started
using the small orange Xyron sticker maker alot. I think it's the 100.
It works on all the tiny embellishments that I cut with the Quickcuts
and does a great job on ribbon and heavy yarn. I just drop the tiny
items in and pull the tape through, rub around the item to get rid of
excess glue (sometimes with a stylus if it's intricate) and no more
messy glue spots on my cards.
Just did some dimensional die cut golf clubs (Joylens)for a scrap page.
Somehow I only thought of this for making real stickers! And I'm too
cheap to use my 510 for small stuff.

That little orange one is the Xyron 150. I have that one, but rarely
use it. I used it for snowflake punches last Christmas.

I use the 500 for all my smallish stuff because I'm too cheap to use the
850 for that! I don't have much use for the 150 and I'm not going for
the 250. I plan to look into the brand new Cheetah which wasn't at my
nearby Michael's when I checked today.

I got the Michael's 50% off coupon in today's paper and I went to
Michael's to see how much the 510 was going for, but they have it at
$99.99 even though the retail price online seems to be $49.99 or $59.99,
depending on which website you go to. Ouch! I wish Michael's would use
the correct retail price.

www.wilde-ideas.com has the Xyron machines for a huge discount. That's
where I got mine and where I get ALL of my refills. They have the best
price that I've found online or anywhere! Hope that helps!

Between Wilde ideas and 50% coupons at Michael's, I couldn't hold off a
minute longer. The 900 and 510 will be presents from hubby for
Christmas that I know I will enjoy when I am able to open and try them
out!

One of the coolest things you can do with your Xyron is to stamp your images
on your cardstock, run it through your Xyron image side down, and press a
used dryer sheet to it. The image will show through the dryer sheet, but it
gives a really cool texture to it!

I have also used it where I ran my image side down and then covered with
Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Oh the things you can do with a Xyron! I'm sure you'll LOVE it!
