You use it to stamp in the diabolical scrapbook that you told us about in
rec.craft.scrapbooks!

You are in a clearing. There is a white mailbox there.

Sorry, I don't know that command.
open mailbox

There's an envelope inside.

Taken.
x envelope

The envelope is white, but has been sponged glorious shades of red and
orange. Images have been stamped on it, with gold filagree embossed one one
edge. The stamp looks so real that the post office has cancelled it, but
upon closer examination, it's a picture of Pavarotti. The return address
reads, "Corvallis, Oregon."

x Pavarotti

You don't really want to do that now, do you?

i

You are carrying: a heat gun (off), mail art, an unmounted stamp of a
platypus, and an oddly glowing stone.

look verbose

You are in a clearing. There is a white mailbox there. It's open and
empty. (You're holding the mail!) To the north and south lie woods. A
path leads west and a house leads to the east. It looks abandoned but maybe
you could squeeze in the window.

e

You suck in your breath and squeeze in the window.

look

It is dark. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Yes!

This was one of the funniest threads I've read in a while.
Brings back memories of my trusty old Zenith machine and the many text
dungeons I wandered through.

Good show and creative high fives to all who grew this tale!
