paper clay questions
I plan to build a wizard's castle similar to Rik Pierce's Toadmoor Manor. I
will be using SONOTUBE cardboard concrete forms as a base. My question is how much clay should I expect to use on a round tower about 16" diameter X 36" - 48" high I want to do both inside and out. Is there an online place to by paperclay....Michael's is pretty expense. Thanks for answering all my questions in the past too. |

Try looking for a recipe for paper mache i.e.: http://www.planetpals.com/papermache.html Sixty years ago (and more) my mother used to make all kinds of things out of this, even an offering plate for our church, which I supplemented with one turned from IIRC White Oak some thirty years after she made the original. Gerry, Great site! I no longer have a recipe I wish i still did, it made a
white paper-mache that dried like porcelain, used white glue, water & toilet tissue & for REALLY smooth you whizzed it in a blender. |

Why tear newspaper, use the shredded paper instead? I bet it would work as well. |
