OT - 2 in 1 post
I figured I'd just put these 2 totally unrelated OTs in one post
1) I'd be happy to receive any house hunting vibes y'all can spare. Talked to the mortgage broker earlier today and he says he can get me a mortgage - yay! So now to find "the" house. 2) Any suggestions for the removal of cat urine odor? It's not horrible but it is noticeable - small bathroom with wood floors. Nature's Miracle had already been tried, but there is still some odor left. Thanks!!! Kathy K |

Yeah - I was going to suggest sanding then refinishing. You can also try a
borax solution. Barbara "Kathy N-V" wrote in message . giganews.com... Reapply the Nature's Miracle, but put some plastic wrap over it. Let it set without drying out for a couple of days, then remove the plastic wrap and let dry. That should do it, but if not, then I'd give the floor a sand and a couple of coats of polyurathane. Kathy N-V |

Every odor specialist I have ever talked to said the only fairly sure thing
is to seal it in. Get it as clean as you can and then use a sealer- polyurethane should work. I don't know what nature's miracle is, but vinegar or sudsy ammonia clean pretty well. good luck. We almost bought a house that had been a kennel for a couple of months, with no humans around, so we had a specialist from 200 mi away come to assess and recommend. Armand |

no humans around, That sounds inhumane! I'm glad you didn't buy it, the house would have to have bad vibes from so many unhappy dogs. Cheri (Bubbee to Emily and Nathan) |

Oh yay! Happy house vibes coming your way!
What Kathy said about sanding and Urethane, but please make sure you wear a mask while you're sanding. -Kalera http://www.beadwife.com http://www.snipurl.com/kebay KDK wrote: I figured I'd just put these 2 totally unrelated OTs in one post 1) I'd be happy to receive any house hunting vibes y'all can spare. Believe it or not the house was owned by the local "humane society". Left to
them in a will. Some one did put out food and water. The back door was left open so they could go in and out, but it seemed that many times they did not bother. Armand |

I don't know what nature's miracle is, but vinegar or sudsy ammonia clean
pretty well. Nature's Miracle is an enzyme that actually eats organic stuff -- blood, urine, etc. It works infinitely better than ammonia or vinegar........ ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce |

Kathy, if the landlady is the one doing the cleaning, and she's saying the
odors won't come out, I'd be leery -- she's probably setting you up to not get your cleaning depsoit back. ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce |

She tried one cleaning. There definitely was an odor, but I've done two
more applications - good soakings and I think it's done. And yeah I'm worried about the deposit too. When she first let me know she already said the floor was going to have to be re-done (of course it didn't look too good to begin with either). We'll see what happens. Thanks all - I think the odor is now gone (if not completely gone it's a
major dissipation). I used one of the enzyme cleaners - the store I was at didn't have Nature's Miracle so it thought I'd give another brand a try. So far so good. Kathy K |
