Well, I have started piecing together the top of the quilt from hell.
62" x 62" to make into a lap quilt. It is comprised of 1-1/2" squares
made up of 2 pieces of contrasting fabric cut in a diagonal and pieced
together so that it makes a 1" finished square when placed in the
quilt top. I have 5 rows of 62 pieces done and can honestly say that
it is going to be impressive when completed. So much random color is
present that it is a feast for they eyes to see. I know I will love
this one, when it is finally finished. I was not sure until I saw a
sample of the finished product. Wow! I am going to do 5 rows at a
time, and then when they are done, piece those rows together into the
finished top. That way I don't have to deal with the whole thing as it
grows , like Topsy, into the finished top. It probably will take a
while to finish all the 5 row pkgs and then piece them together, but I
am on a roll and looking forward to completing this thing. Of course,
pictures will follow when the whole thing is done; and I am in the
asylum again. Just thought you might like to know that I am still in
the game.

Hopefully not the Hannibal Lecter of quilting. I just can't see myself
getting much done in that straight jacket.

I wouldn't worry about the straight jacket.......imagine precisely cutting
out little pieces of cotton with yellow plastic blunt nosed scissors and
eating salad with a spoon......BWAHAhahahahahaha!!

Pooooooooooooooooo-llllllleeeeeeeeeeeeee......John wants to color your gator
with the sniffy markers!!

Can't wait to see the quilt..... I'm sure it will be stunning.

LOL I'm still giggling over this post! Gotta love the sense of humor, or
we'd cry, huh?

Er, ummmmm. . . Sandy, I think we will need to consider visiting John
cautiously before we really do it. Maybe just sending him nice little
gifts would be best. There could be some doubts about which ones of us
were visitors. One of our DDs has a certificate declaring that she is
sane. She needed it to qualify for some sort of hot-shot security
clearance, but most of us are just out loose on the honor system. Polly

"Sandy" wrote John, it sounds magnificent! But please don't forget to
let us know
which asylum you're in and whether you're allowed visitors.

The top is now done and I am starting the putting together tomorrow.
Hopefully I will have some pictures by later this weekend as my wife
is going to a girly group get together and won't be home till Sunday
afternoon. That leaves me plenty of time for marathon quilting stints.
I have 911 programed on speed dial on my cell phone so everything
should work out fine one way or the other. It is either success or the
asylum. or maybe both. Stay tuned.

WOW! Congrats on finishing the top!!! (...and you're still sane enough to
write?)
We wanna see the pics! Good luck on the quilting - may it go speedily and
successfully! (without having to go to the asylum when you're done.)
