Default Dark Silk

I'm going to do some blackwork on my sampler, but I don't want it to be
just black. If you wanted a dark color not black what would you use?
The part I'm talking about is going to like a frame around the outside.
The letters will be in a couple shades of purple and the hardanger
heart in shades of red.

I'm going to be using Eterna silk. From what I've heard here, it's a
popular brand to use, and they have lots of colors. I'd love to be
able to afford the whole line. Since I don't mind being futzy (as
someone put it), I'm going to try the stranded, though I think I'll
also get it in minitwist in case it's too much for me, or maybe just
for changes in sheen.

Happily getting ready for stash,
Suze

Colour being so personal, it is hard to suggest, but maybe an inky blue,
since purple is the secondary formed from red and blue. Or something dark
in the wine colour range between red and purple if you wanted to stay more
monochromatic.
Let us know what you decide

I was going to suggest a deep blue for the same reason.

Whatever goes with the rest of the sampler. I've done blackwork in red, green,
blue, and variegated.
