What do you do when you are involved in swaps and never hear back that the
blocks you sent were received? I put a lot of time and thought into blocks
I made last year and not sure some ever made it "home". I love making
blocks for swaps and hugs but get discouraged when I never hear back after I
mail them.

from my experience as swapper, hugger and as hostess...

the hostess usually hears back from the swappers that the blocks have
arrived but unless it is done on a single forum then you are unlikely to
hear back from fellow swappers.

there is no need to be discouraged about this it is just what happens.

as a swapper/hugger you ought to hear if the block arrived and usually with
hugs you do hear back about them.

Contact the person you sent them too and just ask. So many things get lost
in the mail these days, there is no possible harm or offense in checking.

I agree Karen. Another reason to follow up and ask is that sometimes the
e-mail acknowledging they arrived gets lost in cyberspace! BTDT!

Mary-

I tend to have tender feelings, so I recognize what you're saying.
I've had to convince myself that the joy truly is in the giving and the
recipient may have simply forgotton, or has some small or large crisis
going on in their lives or any number of possibilities and might not
get back to you, or they may have mis-typed your email addy and you
never recive their acknowlwdgement, or they snail mailed a thank you
and it's been lost by the post office. It could be anything or
nothing. Just remember that you did your best to make your gift
something special and that it was appreciated by the recipient- even if
you do not hear from them.

Hugs to you....

Leslie (who recently had the horrible experience of a Christmas gift
and a box of fruitcakes lost in the mail for AGES!)& The Furbabies in
MO.

That's just rude. Our beloved Karen would never do that.

Ask. Sometimes they do not arrive. BTDT more than once. Have a block from
England gone missing for over 4 years now...the replacement block made it to
me within 2 weeks. Go figure.
I know right after we moved I was sent a squishie that the ppl kept--even
admitted doing so. "I didn't know how to contact you"------yeah right, they
were only RENTING from us. It wasn't the fact that she kept it as much as
it was she OPENED other ppl's mail.

Yes -- please check... I received many HUG blocks, a few squishies and more... and then my life blew
up ... and everything became confusing. I had people in my house helping me with housekeeping
(which was nice... but....) and all my carefully laid out "piles" that made perfect sense to me have
been combined.... and realigned... so I have no idea where I was or what was what....

so if anybody sent anything to me.... I probably got it... but now need to work to find out where
everything is at!

Default attn Kate in MI....was Swaps...

oops, Kate,
we did have a call for a mini swap while you were away if that appeals to ya
at all.
Melissa set us up a yahoo group for it....
the time frame is well into the future, well a couple months at any rate.
we're still discussing the 'rules' on the yahoo group.
now where'd i hide that link, argh....
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rctq_mini_swap/
here tis.
i like the small ones and a centralized swap as i can send them to one
person and not be hit with a huuuuge postal charge for it. aint nuttin
(sic) cheap here in nz cept lamb and kiwifruit, of course, lol.
so i'm in the group and definitely interested, will depend on how the rules
turn out of course.
hugz,
jeanne
