pattern question
Hello everyone
Has anyone seen the pattern called "Terrific Tank" made in Zigane yarn by Skacel? I just got the pattern from Rob and Matt with some yarn. I was working on the gauge and noticed it only has stitches not rows. I am not making it in Zigane yarn but something else. Matt and Rob are closed now and I won't be able to call them until Sunday when I am at work. I am just wondering if anyone knows the gauge. Thanks. Kristine |

Sorry, Kristine, I can't help you. But I didn't want you to feel ignored.

Hi!
Row gauge, for the most part, isn't too terribly important. Normally, you work until a piece is 'long enough' (sometimes a target number is given). The place that would cause problems is armhole and neckline shaping - and that's only if you are substituting a majorily different type of yarn (ie bulky instead of DK or the like). Since you have the yarn the pattern called for, matching the stitch gauge is all you need to worry about. Sorry, I read too fast - the rest of my message covers it tho'. .
Unless the two yarns are vastly different thickness' if they are then you need to be careful with the shaping. Thanks for you help Sonya. I called Rob at Threadbear and he said that the
row guage was not important because there is not much shaping. It is a tank type of sweater. Kristine "Sonya Cirillo" wrote in message ...
