Coverdisk CD art
Hi, I remember reading about a website in a magazine that told you how to
make various sculptures and things from those AOL ISP coverdisk CD's. Does anybody know of this site or one like it? I've got about 80 of these CDs and would like to build something out of them. |

Some of the stuff is on the tacky side, but I suppose that's in the eye of the beholder. I've seen some attractive jewelry (pins, etc.) made out of cut-up pieces of CD with faux jewels glued on, and somewhere I saw a charming set of scenes using miniature buildings, trees and figures - purchased or made from poly clay - glued to CD bases and incorporating the reflective surfaces as "ponds", etc. I keep a stack of CDs in my studio to use as disposable palettes for acrylic paint. Very handy - the hole makes it easy to hold while you're painting - and reusable (any paint left over after the project can be peeled right off when it's dry). -- Pat Kight |
