That's the plan, and it's something I can have my youngest daughter help
with. I hate doing I-cord.

Rather than do miles of i-cord or spoolknitting, I think
I'd cast on lengthwise, knit enough rows to get the
thickness, and do a 3-needle bind-off. That way I could
even make the tentacles striped lengthways.
