OT Grand baby watch
Well, my grand daughter is now one day overdue. Mom is feeling fine
but would really like to meet her little bundle of joy. No name has been selected yet, but I have started to call her "Puddin" just to have something to call her. They are in Florida so I am hoping to hop down there the minute I get the word from my son. I will keep you posted! AliceW in NJ |

Well, it was pretty tough making quilts for a Florida kidlet, but she
will have 4 of various weights and sizes - same as my grand son. Haveta make them the same number, you know. But I have made her a flannel receiving blanket in sage green with the alphabet animals, a pink, white and lilac rail fence minkee quilt, a Brambley Hedge quilt using a full panel for the front and a coordinating fabric for the backing, and a chennile quilt in sage green, yellow and white. Can you tell that mama kept changing the color of the nursery? It ended up being pink, lilac and white. I figure she'll use them all since it does get chilly in their part of Florida and she can also use them as floor covers as well. This does not count the I Spy quilt that I have started for her and her cousin thanks to the swap that Lynn just hosted. AliceW in NJ |

I don't suppose that this is a good time for me to mention that one of our
daughters was born 6 weeks later than her predicted birth date. She was due in October and got here when she was good and ready in December - and that was not one bit even close to a world's record. Back then, the nurses were firmly bent on placing all newborns in the incubators on their little tummys. DD could roll over on her back and just send her nurses into a dither. They don't let pregnancies run that far past due date anymore. I suspect it's the number of o b doctors that went missing in the Swamp. Polly |

Many many sympathies to your daughter in law for going overdue - I was 9
days late with my second baby in August and was climbing the walls. One word of advice - don't phone every day asking "Have you had it yet?" ;-) morag "AliceW" wrote in message oups.com... We are waiting for our grand-neice who was due yesterday. I guess I
must be impatient. Both of my children were born early and after short labors. My oldest was a week early and 6 hours of labor, my youngest was 4 weeks early and just under 4 hours labor. I think they would have to commit my son first and then my DIL if she went
that far. There was originally some question of her actual due date and they had both October 9th and 13th, but the doctor won't let her go past next Sunday. I will have to clone myself since my DD is now ready to move into her newly renovated home within the next 10 days and I have two business trips the week of the 20th! I will make airline reservations hoping to hit it right so I can help my son and DIL when they come home. If I can at least give them a chance for a few full nights sleep it will help them a bit. I have not been calling unless she tells me she has a doctors appt. Then I call to see how that went. -- Alice in NJ, Royal Cybrarian http://www.ourcyberfamily.us/ "Just about the time a woman thinks her work is done, she becomes a grandmother." Edward H.
