Polly asked us to show & tell what we are stitching, so I'll go first,
and I hope this works. If not I'll figure another way. This is hand piecing and has been very calming for me during this past week. http://tinyurl.com/76rqmhj Karen, Queen of Squishies |

Gorgeous. I love the way the stars appear and recede; sort of like the
'real' ones. Polly "Karen"; "Queen of Squishies" hicall80 @ mchsi.com wrote in message ... Polly asked us to show & tell what we are stitching, so I'll go first, and I hope this works. I put up pics a few pics in my Webshots album, look at the ones with
the 'new' postings. http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...93601673YYzCBo There's my "finally finished" log cabin quilt (it just took 5 years), a applique heart top (still have to quilt it) and completed a quilted purse ready for spring. For 'regular' sewing I've made three spring/summer tops so far, have been having a lot of fun with the serger and cover stitch machine on stretchy ITY (Interlock Twist Yarn) fabric. -Irene |

We are in the middle of a warm summer here so I am just getting back to quilting for the year. The first photo in the link is my entry to our Guild's 2012 Challenge. Topic: Surfboard using the same size template. Total size of quilt to be exactly 24x48". I found the image in the Great American PinUp book. My husband thinks it is terrific [what man doesn't like a pin- up girl?]. Reading the book yesterday to acknowledge the original artist, I see it is Joyce Ballantyne, the artist of the original Coppertone ad in the the '50s of the girl and the puppy pulling her shorts/swimsuit. The project was great fun, and I learnt a new technique for the background out of Robbi Joy Eklow's book, Free Expression. with fused applique. Anyone else tried this? The second project was a completed in a day and a bit, a basket liner for my flat basket that I take to quilting, which is also good for transferring comestibles here and there. The pretty cupcake fabric took my eye. https://picasaweb.google.com/bronfer...eat=directlink Cheers Bronnie Oz |

What incredible skill you have, Bronnie. I especially admire your
readiness to try new techniques and work to make extraordinary pieces. I wonder if anyone else had the same first thought as I did: lady on a surfboard with shark's teeth very close indeed gg? If you didn't think of it, the idea for the border was probably subconscious. Fun though! Congratulations. .. In message , Bronnie writes Hi everyone I have just finished two projects.
