glass alternative

Is there any new material that I can use in place of glass for
"stained glass work".Some kind of clear plastic easily cut ? So many
new things out that I'm hoping. I saw a beautiful wreath of stained
glass leaf designs and would like to duplicate it but don't want to
get involved with cutting acutal glass. Used to work in that medium
years ago, but not at this moment.. Thanks Liz

What about using translucent polymer clay?

You can buy colored mylar for the "glass" and a product called Decra
Lead which is an adhesive backed lead stripping that you use for the
"lead" look. Try Micheles or some other general craft store.
