Your mother probably did what my mother did... called you by your FULL name.
I could always judge how much trouble I was likely to be in by whether or
not a nickname got used and if not whether the middle name was used too. If
it was first, middle, and last names all together I knew it was time to look
for a hiding place. Not that I ever gave her much cause to do that of
course. g

Howdy!
Linda reminds me of my college algebra teacher,
calling me by my last name; "Ellison---tell us how you
use algebra in your daily life (she wasn't impressed about
algebra in quilting)." VBG
I've met this woman face-to in Dallas, and I'm still "Ellison."
Ah, well, could be worse; my mother used to call me Names.

School's out, school's out, teacher let the ___ out. (you fill in
the blank)

Ragmop/SANDY -- yep, Joanna, 7 months for all those
quilters who really think they'll get all those

projects
done by ... whenever ;-P

Hi Ellison, I said the same thing yesterday. One good thing is that

the
School Zone Speed limits are off for the summer. So when you are trying

to
get somewhere between 2:30 & 4:45 you can actually go the speed limited
without going 20 mph every few blocks! School starts again early

August.
(sigh)

I knew mum was flustered and angry when she cataloged the entire family
including the four-leggeds before spouting my full name.

If I'm really, really mad, I call the kid by their first name, and
everybody's middle name in order. By the time I've gotten through the list,
I've calmed down a bit. Kind of like counting to 10 first, but more of a
mental puzzle! Spike Anne David Rose Ruth Isabel Kuehr-McLaren!

Having 7 kids made dad more efficient. He got out a couple of names
and then would say 'whoever you are'. He refers to great grands as
'the girl' and such. Irritates me when he does that but he alleges that
at 79 he is in fact not getting old but verified old.
Mom used first and middle with no nicknames involved when we were in
trouble. The tone out of mom was most important. She could be
pushed pretty far but when you went over the line there was no
question. Not much calming down happened with that woman!

Being a homeschooling mom, I have a different perspective on the end of
the school year. My kids are home 365 days a year, and I like it that
way most of the time (except when the hormone storms are raging -- I
have 3 teenagers). The end of the school year, however, *is* a relief
from the daily grind of making sure the reluctant ones get their
schoolwork done, and that they aren't sneaking in sessions of Instant
Messenger behind the history papers in Microsoft Word.

Wendy, I don't know how you do it. I feed 5 kids and two adults every other
weekend and I barely make enough food. I just keep forgetting how many of us
there are. But that's not the hardest part. I can't wait for Sunday nights
when the house is QUIET! I don't know how you can do it when they are
already "Home". LOL I actually fell asleep on the sofa today after roaming
the mall with them all. I'm zahsted! We told them 8:00PM bed time! We need
the rest.

I've got another 3 days of relative peace before being "blessed" with my
children's presence for the summer. I'll be going from feeding just me

lunch
3 days a week, to feeding 6 of us 5 days a week.

I've stocked up on Exedrine Migraine, and Calgon.

Ragmop isn't that sensitive. As long as you don't say, 'who needs finished?'
she's fine.

I have a special talent. I can make 5 peanut butter sandwiches, 1 1/2 with
jelly, in under 3 minutes! :-)
