My little demon spawn is on year round school, so I get a month off with the
beastie out of every 4. This sounds great, but since he's going into Jr.
High it looks like I get the whole summer with him... for the first time in
years. I am going to lose what little is left of my mind.

Howdy!
Time to stay off the streets, out of the shopping centers,
forget about going to the mall. In north Texas, school's out,
the kids are roaming freely, the summer drivers are back,
and I'm staying home to quilt. VBG
Stocked up on marking pens at the Trinity Valley Quilt Show
in Ft.Worth last Friday (my husband enjoyed our quick trip
over there, said howdy to some of my quilting buddies, tried to
talk me into buying a Featherweight [told him I'm not ready and
they were over-priced; he wants to tinker with one],
and I bought him Mexican food and margaritas for lunch),
got my next couple of quilt projects pulled from the stash,
and I'm ready to hibernate for the summer. ;-P

I'm not going to mention that it's the 25th of May.... *snicker*

Ragmop/Sandy--no kids in school this year, no summer students
hanging around to drive me crazy-er === YEE-HAW!!!!

Erm?...

According to Robert Chambers's _Book of Days_ it's the anniversary
of the outbreak of the Marseilles Plague of 1720 and was formerly
"Flitting-Day" in Scotland (the day when people preferred to move
house). Unless you have a thing about St Adhelm of Sherburn, whose
day it is, what else is special about it?

5 days before my birthday.

I'll be off-line from Thursday to Sunday, I'll see you all Monday.

So which one is the demon, you or the boy's other parent? Or is this an
adopted child? ;-)

Sorry, couldn't resist. It reminded me of a time when MIL and her son (DH's
older brother) were having a rip-roaring fight with lots of shouting and
insults. MIL called him a "Son of a B*tch" -- and then realized what she'd
just said about herself in the process. They both started laughing so hard
they couldn't continue the fight. *grin*

Howdy!
Linda reminds me of my college algebra teacher,
calling me by my last name; "Ellison---tell us how you
use algebra in your daily life (she wasn't impressed about
algebra in quilting)." VBG
I've met this woman face-to in Dallas, and I'm still "Ellison."
Ah, well, could be worse; my mother used to call me Names.

School's out, school's out, teacher let the ___ out. (you fill in
the blank)

Ragmop/SANDY -- yep, Joanna, 7 months for all those
quilters who really think they'll get all those projects
done by ... whenever ;-P

Hi Ellison, I said the same thing yesterday. One good thing is that the
School Zone Speed limits are off for the summer. So when you are trying

to
get somewhere between 2:30 & 4:45 you can actually go the speed limited
without going 20 mph every few blocks! School starts again early August.
(sigh)

Oh Sandy, Did I offend you by calling you Ellison? I hope not. Wouldn't
want you mad at me! :-)

LOL - that's a term of endearment in our house! Although I recall I once
called DD2 that and she said "I'm not a little s***, I'm a princess!".
"Princess little s**t?" I replied. "Yep" she said "And Madeline (DD1) is
Princess Big S**t!".

....and you get sprung from HS don't you Debbi?
One of the things about college that is so wonderful is
that they really don't need parents (the school that is).
Kids still in school here for a bit.

We've got another month before school is out. Luckily the school kids
around here don't seem to be hanging out at the LQS. g
