The heroine is a middle aged woman who inherits her sister's needlework shop and seems to have a gift for solving crimes. I love her supporting characters, especially Godwin DuLac, her store manager. I just love gay men and he is a doll. Fun reads. There are about 10 books in the series so far. She used to write on RCTN , and i bought 3 books [ WONDERFUL] out of her serie , but i couldn`t afford to order more ,,, maybe now that the $ is sinkning i could ,,, She writes well ,,, |

Miss Marple definitely knitted. Several times she was described as knitting something pink and fluffy. I don't know Miss Silver. I enjoyed what I have read of Monica Ferris. Higs, Katherine I have also read a book about a Lauta Musician, sent from England to Play in Norvegia or Sweden [ sorry forgot] and the queen who likes to knit , but since it is considered dangerous for women , takes a boat to an Island in the middle of as lake so that she can kn it in peace ,,,,, mirjam |

What I'd love to read, and I don't even know if this exists, is a book about
a knitting detective that actually has a knitting pattern or two in it. There are novels with recipes in them, why not patterns? Murielle |

Maggie Sefton's knitting mysteries have a pattern in them but they are very
simple patterns. Her writing isn't all that great either. If you're interested, look for a library copy rather than buying any. -- Jan in MN "Murielle" wrote in message news:PuCMi.37776$nO3.18763@edtnps90... Thank you! I will.
Simple seems to be all I can handle right now. I need to get back into knitting. My brain has forgotten how to think in stitches and patterns. Murielle "Jan" wrote in message ... From film to film i hope to see SOMETHING shaped ,,,,,,, nada ,,,
Very unthinking of the Director .. mirjam bI think she was the only actress to play Miss Marple who had the right body type, too (thin enough to hide in a broom closet). But did she ever finish a garment in a film, or was it always just anonymous shapeless stuff? =Tamar |
