OT - little bitty anxiety attacks
Nothing bad, don't panic. Dh and I decided to take the plunge today, and
prequalified for a home loan. We met with the real estate agent we've been chatting with on and off for about four months, and we will be looking at three houses on Friday. This will be our first purchased home....we've always rented, and never been able to afford to even dream about owning. It scares the crap out of me. Have to keep reminding myself to breathe. I know it'll be great, and we'll find just the right house for us, but still. We have a VA loan, and they're very very picky as to what they will allow us to buy...lots of restrictions as to condition of the house, what type of house, etc. Anyway...we'll be busy jumping through hoops. One of the houses we're looking at has a large studio in the finished attic, where there is great ventilation, skylight, and is open to the livingroom below, so I could sorta be with family while I sew, bead, scrapbook, whatever. We drove by it, and i REALLY want to see inside. Anyway....this will likely be a long process, but I'm excited and having small panic attacks at the prospect of owning a house. OBR: I am going to be looking into a class on wire work/soldering....and maybe...well, if we get the house with the loft, I might take a beginning lampwork class to see if I like it. -- Jalynne - Keeper of the Quilt for ME club list Queen Gypsy (snail mail available upon request) see what i've been up to at www.100megsfree4.com/jalynne |

Take a deep breath and exhale slowly. Your chances of getting that house are
actually better now that you've been preapproved. We've been in our home for exactly 4 years and 11 months today. We had settlement around noon and started moving things in that evening. It wa s ahuge lifestyle change for both of us. I had been an apartment dweller for 25 years and Keith had a room at his mom's place. Neither one of us had ever owned a home before and we hadn't lived together while we were dating. We no sooner made the first house payment and we were both laid off from our jobs on the same day. (We worked together and the company was undergoing upper management changes.) Yes, it sucked but we managed. The cool thing is that in the 11½ years that we're been together, we've never argued. No, never. Not even that situation as scary as it was drove us to that point. Life is calmer now and we still love our home. I wish you and your DH the same thing. Oh, once you get your house, hang a baqua mirror outside of your main entry way. It will help keep out the bad spirits. Seems to be working for us. :-) -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Jalynne" wrote in message et... Nothing bad, don't panic. It is stressful, but in the end it will be the best decision you've ever
made. One word of advice, hire your own real estate attorney to handle the contracts. As much as you trust your realtor, a r.e. attorney is the only one that represents your interests in the fullest. If you realtor insists that he/she can handle it all, find another realtor. Contract problems are common and you don't want to find out on the day you are supposed to close, that there is an issue. FUnny you should say that, we have a bunch of little mirrors in our entry way. I'm
not real into decorating to keep bad spirits away, but a mirror by the entry is a very practical thing anyway. -- Jalynne - Keeper of the Quilt for ME club list Queen Gypsy (snail mail available upon request) see what i've been up to at www.100megsfree4.com/jalynne "JoAnn Paules" wrote in message ... Jalynne,
Cool! Be REALLY careful not to buy anything you aren't really happy with! The real estate agent can seem really nice, then after they have taken you out a few times get impatient and start kind of pushing things on you. marisa2 Jalynne wrote: Nothing bad, don't panic. My brother was just married. As a wedding gift my cousin bought them an old
Victorian gargoyle. Not quite a practical gift like a blender, but supposedly gargoyles were supposed to protect the home. They don't own their home, but some day will; the gargoyle will be there to protect them. I thought it was a rather neat idea. Some people smudge their homes, or put up crosses or whatever, they got a gargoyle. LOL! Valerie "Kathy N-V" wrote in message . giganews.com... We have a "Varraso" door knocker, and two wooden signs over the door - one in German, and one in Italian. Both say "God Bless this House, and all that go in and out." One couple I know (without kids, obviously) "blessed" each room in a rather personal manner when they bought their first house. Interesting, but I'd have rather not heard about it at work. breath, innnnn and ouuuuuuut.... innnnnn and ouuuuuuuutt.... um... not that
fast.. you'll hyperventilate. I hope you find a house that fufills all the needs you have, and be easy to clean, and a joy to live in. Craftsman style would be nice. :-) Diana "Jalynne" wrote in message et... Nothing bad, don't panic. Dh and I decided to take the plunge today, and prequalified for a home loan.
