Default Need Purple Silk Flags

I need two or three dozen purple flags similar in size and color to
what is decpited in these pictures:

Could someone advise me of the the most economical material and pattern
to use for the flag? I am told the flags shown are made of silk so they
flutter nicely. I have little knowledge about sewing or materials but I
would like to receive some suggestions on where to obtain a bolt of an
appropriate material and a pattern so I can get some volunteers to
start the project.

You need a couple bolts of china silk in the right color. The flags are
not difficult to make, just be sure to reinforce the sleeve, and the
area on the end of the sleeve that attaches with Velcro to the pole.

Also, be careful how you make the corners, as these can whip into the
flagbearers eyes and injure them. We made them with a doubled-over hem,
and were careful to double at the corners, after folding down on an
angle. Very important detail.

As for a source, do a Google search for "china silk", inside quotes;
that should help.
