New pics
Hi all
Remember the wool sweaters I bought at Value Village a couple of weeks ago? I've felted them all, and today I made a bag from one of them. If you're interested, please follow the links to my Yahoo album that shows the sweater before felting, and the bag made today. ;) http://tinyurl.com/ycofbh This is the pic of the bag. Hit the "next" button and you'll see the sweater. Happy viewing. Shelagh |

I love the way that felting blends the colours together. Congrats on turning a so-so sweater into a great bag! Erin http://arkivarie.livejournal.com/ |

Shelagh,
I love your bag. It looks much better than the one bag I have made so far from a thrift store sweater. I have bought more sweaters at yard sales to make into bags etc.One problem though is that I decide the sweaters are too nice to cut up and then I give them away. Seeing your bag makes me realize that nice sweaters make even nicer bags. I think another thrift store visit is in order Marilyn "Shillelagh" wrote in message ... speaking od bag straps was New pics
Hee Shelagh
love your idea of making straps from the sleeves ,, here are my New Strap ideas measure length wanted ,,,,, collect a variety of wool threads you like [the more the better ,,,,] cut up 4X longer than wanted length .... make a knit at one end and bind it to door knob or a hook ,,,, stand far enough to make it straight and roll till you can`t anymore . slide some heavy ring [ Scissors ear might do] to the middle and hold up so it can roll unto itself , make a knot at both ends , and throw into the washmachine with your towels ,,,,, you get a great strap , colorfull , soft on the shuolder and strong .... mirjam "Laura J" wrote in message news:xUL1h.3678$B44.154@trndny07...
