Default patterns for children

Does anybody know of a source of easy sewing patterns for children?
I'm looking for simple projects for a quick to learn six year old.
Ideally things like aprons, dolls clothes etc

There's a sewing book for kids reviewed on my book list: aimed at 7-11
YO's, but a bright 6 YO will cope. Called 'I'll Teach Myself Sewing
Machine Fun'.

No, that can't possibly be correct. I bought a copy for my daughter
10-ish years ago for something like $7 USD.

If it is, you can have mine for half that! ;P Nah, has to be a
stitch-up surely? It cost about £7.50 when I got it from Amazon UK...
Less than a year ago! If you can't get hold of it, let me know, and
I'll see what I can do for you.

you!

Trouble is that the blessed thing is out of print! I have looked, and
the cheapest you seem to be able to get it from Amazon is £20... It was
no. 5 when I did a search on Amazon UK. Their prices are usually fair.
Mind you, while I could see it fetching £20 in like new condition,
£79.95 is bleedin' silly - 'scuze my Klatchian! It's good, but not THAT
good!

Okay, you piqued my curiosity. I found "I'll Teach Myself Sewing
Machine Fun" a few places here in the states at a reasonable price.
Well, for $16.95 which seems reasonable to me. Since I have an 8
year-old who wants to learn to sew and a 5 year-old who _may_ want to
learn in a few years; I may track down a copy of this.
Done. I ordered a copy of that book and one in the same series
called "I'll Teach Myself Gifts to Give". I think I have some Christmas
gifts covered now! I found them at Heirlooms Forever Sewing Center
(www.sews.com) and at Amazon.com USA. Although Amazon says the item
usually ships in 11-12 days. I ordered from Heirlooms Forever. NAYY.
I wish there were a reasonably priced solution for you in the UK.
Maybe the library will have it.
Thanks for the tip, Kate. I need to go back and explore your web
pages more and see what else I overlooked.

We can order from Amazon in the USA! I've done that very successfully.
Visa works just fine. Paying the shipping, it works out OK and is still
under the £20 that attracts duty! It's a hellovva lot better that a
shilling short of £80! Sheesh! They azter be effing joking, to quote a
plumbing aquaintance of mine!
