DH and I have been married 21 years -- when I want to tweak him, I call him
"my first husband". *evil grin*

Congratulations on making it to 41!

I'll add my congratulations, too, Sally!

Kathy, DH and I will have our 35th anniversary on Saturday (7/7/07) --
and he's *always* introduced me as his first wife. He gets a lot of odd
looks.

Sandy:
Thirty five years is a milestone. Pat's Original
Virginia Fife and Drums Corps will play a medley of
romantic music for you and DH on Saturday.

Just this morning I read that lots of people all over
the world are planning to marry on that day. The reason
given is that 7 is considered a lucky number by various
cultures. It seems it was lucky for you two!

I always just say "Half your stuff" - even if we're in a serious
argument, it always cracks him up (it's from some comic's comedy
routine - can't remember who at the moment) ... spectators/friends
STILL look at us funny when we joke about that!

This year, astrologically 7/7 is a bad day to marry. I will bet
dollars to donuts that a higher than average group of these folks
divorce sooner or later. Clearly Sandy got married to the right man
on the right 7/7. Congrats to her and dh. 35 years is a long time.
We are heading to 27 years next month. Jeez, time flies.

Thanks, Pat. As it happens, we didn't consciously pick that date for
"luck" reasons, as so many are doing this year (Las Vegas will be
swamped, according to all reports). G We'd originally planned to get
married at the end of June, right before DH-to-be had to be back to work
coaching. However, DT couldn't get to Arizona from Massachusetts (where
she was living that year) because of snow days in the district where she
was teaching. We postponed to July 8, a Saturday, but then discovered
that DH's best man would be leaving that very day for his annual
National Guard duty. We moved it forward one day to July 7 and then
discovered that it was DH's parents' anniversary! Leave it to DH not to
know that. LOL! It's been a family joke for years. G

I'm looking forward to the serenade from POF&DC!

Thanks, Taria. Though there've been times when I wondered about that
"right man" bit. It's rather odd to realize that I've been married so
much longer than I was single! G
