Default Where to find red glass lumps?

Hi,

Could anyone point me to a supplier where I could get smooth red glass
lumps of approximately oval or teardrop shape? I'm a costume designer
looking for mock 'jewels' to make into pendants, and I'm having no
luck at all finding glass pieces the correct size (about 35-50mm in
length). The lumps don't have to be perfectly regular in shape, but
they do need to taper somewhat at top and bottom, and they need to be
unfaceted and fully transparent. I was hoping I could find something
designed for decorative purposes, but all I've found are the round
glass globs sold in candle shops which are no use to me.

I'm in the UK but I'd order from anywhere! Apologies if this is the
wrong forum for this question but I'm at my wits' end, any
recommendations would be very gratefully received. :-)

Many thanks,
Tasha

Do you have a pattern or drawing you would care to send? Could be made to
order. Watch your email, if this is your addy.

Hi Tasha
Oval glass jewels are used by stained glass crafters when making some
of the 'reproduction Tiffany' lampshades so are available from any
stained glass supplies shop.
Check out www.yell.co.uk under 'stained glass supplier' for your
nearest shop to visit to see what is available.

Many thanks to all for the help, it's greatly appreciated! Thanks to a
recommendation from a rec.crafts.glass reader I've now found some
suitable glass 'cobbles' in an online gift shop, so I'm OK.
