Newbie with a question
Hello all. Brand new poster here, and almost brand new to sewing,
except for high school home ec which was a little while ago I just made a pair of one-piece PJ's for a friend of mine, and they are too short-waisted for him so they ride in uncomfortable places... what is the easiest way to fix this? I have lots of material left over to put in an extra piece in the crotch but I'm not sure what shape, etc. to make it. The PJ's have the two front and back panels which are each once piece from feet to collar, if that makes sense. If it matters, the pattern is McCall's 3860. Any advice is welcome! Thanks. Natasha |

Welcome!
Unfortunately, the best way to have dealt with this would have been to cut the pattern pieces in half, spread them apart a couple of inches and cut the front/back pieces out longer in the beginning. You would have needed to add one more button to the front, but that's not a big problem. Now, let's see...you may be able to get an extra inch of comfort (which could make all the difference in the world) by resewing the shoulder seams and the crotch seam with a next-to-nothing amount of seam allowance. That will release fabric into the front and back where it counts. If that doesn't relieve the wedgie....then I would consider adding a bit of fabric in the crotch (imagine an eye shaped piece) starting about 2 or 3 inches on either side of the center front/back seam into the inner leg seams. I'm having trouble putting it into words but I can picture it in my head perfectly; sorry. Good luck! "Natasha" wrote in message om... Hello all.
