Default Power Pro Braided Bead Thread

A couple of weeks ago, I asked for help concerning what type of thread to
use for crocheting a rope with swarovski crystal beads. A lot of beaders
recommended FireLine which I purchased at a local sporting goods store. In
the meantime, I attended a bead show and spoke with a dealer who had a lot
of different kinds of thread at her booth. She recommended Power Pro braided
bead thread (one of you may have recommended that, too). Anyway, I just
wanted to say how great this stuff is. It doesn't kink or knot and easily
goes through a #12 needle. I love it! As soon as I finish this necklace, I'm
going to try it for some other crocheting projects and ndebelle, etc. I just
wanted to make sure everyone knows about this thread since you were kind
enough to offer me help when I needed it.

Power Pro is ok for stringing but you can't use it for sewing on beads. It
does have a softer drape then FireLine, but nothing beats FireLine for most
things. What test poundage did you get? Power Pro is much harder to thread
then any thread I have tried. If you are going to use Power Pro don't buy
the stuff they sell at the bead store, it is so much more expensive then
buying it at a sporting goods store.

Yup. An there are spots on the Links List where you can buy stuff like that --
Fireline too. Sporting goods sites.

I purchased Power Pro, 006 in., 10 lb test and the cost was $5.95 for 28
yeards. It's made by Beadsmith. I found it great to work with and very easy
to thread.

It is all the same stuff as what you buy at the fishing store and a lot less
expensive. I wouldn't work with more than 10 pound test or you can't get it
through a #12 needle.
