Default OT wrapping in fabric

I came across this link nosing around tonight:

http://www.jennywrenpaperie.com/wrapping.php

If you give gifts to quilter friends this is
a great how to using fabric as the 'paper'.
You could use tablecloths or napkins too depending
on size and gift. Just some fun ideas to keep
wrapping paper use and cost down.

Good ideas! And fabric is so much more forgiving of pointy-cornered boxes
and such. I've made gift bags out of kitchen towels, using the biggest
possible machine stitch to sew the sides so it's easy to convert back into a
towel.

Furoshiki wrapping!!! The Japanese have been using cloths for
wrapping/carrying for centuries. Lots of neat ways to do it. G

DH brought home a few furoshikis when he visited Japan several years ago.
And I have often wrapped gifts in fabric, and not been ashamed to get
the fabric back either. G (No one else in the family sews........ and
wrapping paper would just get thrown out......... so wrapping fabric
gets thrown to me.G)

I did something like that on a swap and instead of using tape because you
can't use tape I used safety pins..I think fabric is sometimes cheaper than
some of the fancy wrapping papers.
