Default OT - Snow in NH

Well, this one won't be known as the great St. Patrick's Day Storm. But it
is a no school day and I am cherishing the peace until they all wake up!

Ah, yes. I was driving I-81 in that one. It started out as rain in
southern PA, but as I got further north and further up in elevation, it
changed to ice and snow. I thought I would make it home, but when I saw a
double tractor trailer jackknife in front of me, I decided it was time to
get off the highway. The next day the interstate was still closed, and
what is normally a two and a half hour trip ended up taking over two days.

Yeah! I was in college, and nobody would believe that classes were
cancelled because it was April Fools Day! I spent a good 45 minutes
trying to find somewhere that still had milk for sale; apparently the
whole state of RI sells out of milk and bread every time it snows.

Work was "suspended" that day.
Bet you were still a babe in arms for the Blizzard of '78, or you'd know why
the stores sell out!

I was at Penn State for that one, and they closed the college for the first
time in years. I sat through a thermodynamics class, an astrophysics
class, and a differential equations class to get to my "easy" class of the
trimester, Shakepeare. Sat there for 15 minutes before someone came in and
said they closed the college. Why they couldn't close during
thermodynamics....

How about the superstorm of 1993?

Hmm - I had a nearly newborn than. I think we just hunkered down. That's the
year I had strep three times in 5 weeks.

Geez - It started snowing here Tuesday afternoonish, and here it is,
Thursday morning and it hasn't stopped yet! I'm getting a little tired of
seeing all this white stuff fall from the sky when it should be warm and
pretty and green...

I hate winter.

It was still snowing ever so lightly when I got up this AM. We got maybe
half an inch more by this AM.

I am very ready for spring!

We got about and inch of slush last night. This morning the sky was
intensely blue and the snow on the trees against the blue sky was just
stunning! No wind, yet, and fairly warm temps (28F). All in all, just
beautiful!!!
Now, having said that, I am also ready for spring, just not all the mud
that will come between now and then!
