Anchor Ophir conversion

Hi all,

I just bought a magazine with a wonderful anniversary sampler but it calls
for Anchor Ophir threads which I *know* I will not be able to find anywhere
close to home. Does anyone know of a conversion from these threads (which I
had never heard of before!) to something like DMC or kreinik??? Or a
reasonable substitution for the gold and silver??

You can order Ophir from www.countrycrossstitcher.co.uk
But if you prefer to substitute, Ophir is slightly thicker than Kreinik
Cord but not quite as thick as Kreinik Cable. I would be tempted to use
two strands of Cord. Alternatively the Kreinik Japan threads are a
possibility- again the No.1 is slightly finer, the No.5 slightly
thicker. Colourwise Kreinik Dark Gold is a good match.
