Default Wonder Clips vs. portfolio clips

I am considering getting either Wonder Clips or Porfolio clips to use
instead of pins, at least in some applications.

I first looked into ordering them online from Joanns or Office Depot
respectively, then actually picking them instore (I can do that for both
so I did not factor shipping charges).

Using that method, the cost for the Wonder Clips was 40-45 cents apiece
depending on the size of the package, and the cost of the portfolio
clips was about 3 cents apiece. By that measure, the porfolio clips
win, because I looked at some online articles comparing the 2, and the
Wonder Clips are not 13-15 times "better," if they are "better" at all.

I then looked on both Amazon and Ebay at Wonder Clips in
bulk, and by that method, the Wonder Clips are only about twice as much
as the portfolio clips, which is better, but the online articles didn't
really convince me that the Wonder clips are "twice as good."

Then I found a listing on ebay that had 100 wonder clips for 99 cents,
and free shipping, so the shipping costs didn't negate the cost savings
of the clips themselves.

This is the best deal pricewise, but for that price I am worried that
they might be something that would break the second time I use them.
However, at that price, purchasing them to see how they do hold up might
be worth it.

I guess my question is whether I should buy these clips to test their
durability, or just buy the portfolio clips because I already know how
durable they already are.

As a PS, I went onto Facebook and found the RCTQ group, but as of when I
am writing this message, my membership is still pending. I guess I will
at least try a test message when and if my membership is approved.

As another PS, the quilt on the picture on the RCTQ main facebook page
looks very much like the flag of New Mexico, the state where I grew up.

I'm not really answering your question, but saying that I use the wooden
spring clothes pins like I hang my wet clothes out on the line to dry.
They work for me, and I am not buying anything "extra". They don't leave an
impression on the cloth.
