For my friends in OZ
John,
thanks for the education..., you should have noticed by now I live in Cairns. I know that time zones are determined by longitudes, not the hemispheres. However, countries like Germany belong to the Northern Hemisphere and have night, when we have day, right? That's why so many people do relate rather to north and south than longitudes. Happy stitching Sibille www.myenchanting.com "Johnno" wrote in message ups.com... Err... Sibille, the difference between Northern and Southern Hemispheres relates to the seasons, not to the hours of light and dark. We're in the middle of summer here in Oz. John |

Hi Sibille,
I did take a look at your web site and noted you were in Oz, and I was wondering where. One of these years I'd love to get a proper look at Cairns. (I'm in Brisbane.) All that reef and stuff and I've never had a good look at it. John |

The confusion comes from thinking of a country on the other side of the world. To simplify things: Korea is in the Northern Hemisphere but they have day at essentially the same time you do. But they are in winter now while you are in summer. -- Brenda Help Project Gutenberg--become a Distributed Proofreader http://www.pgdp.net/ |
