Linen in quilt?
I've used bits of linen in wall quilts, which won't have to be washed.
But do any of you use linen in regular quilts? I'm just curious. I love the way it looks and feels in hand, but I'm wondering if it would be a bad mistake to include some in a lap quilt. Sunny |

Thanks Amy. That's what I thought would happen. I'm glad I asked.

Wash hot, dry hot, it shrinks! Otherwise, it's beautiful and plays
well with cottons and silks of similar weight. I had a big piece donated to a special project to use as the backing, and it was absolutely fine. But, but, but ...linen is strong! What you have must be very loosely
woven. Roberta in D On Tue, 5 Jan 2010 09:57:03 -0800 (PST), Sunny wrote: Thanks Amy. That's what I thought would happen. I'm glad I asked. Sunny |

Linen in quilt?
I bought some very nice linen thinking it would be soft, absorbent and
wonderful for baby receiving blankets. Wrong. I was never able to get the crisp washed out of it and it wrinkled if I only cast a glance in its direction. The MOB used it to cover something at the reception and I was happy to have it gone. I suppose it could be that linen had been chemically treated somehow; just never saw anything like it.
