Default "E" marks on (safety?) glass

I have been trying to find information about the (presumably European)
"E" marks which are found on safety (laminated?, tempered?) glass used
in vehicles.

Some have E17, some E5 etc.

I haven't been able to find a table explaining the differences, anyone
know?

(I hope that I haven't deviated *too* far from the norm of this
newsgroup... :$)

Thank you for your help.

Google with "safety glass markings" throws up some answers. The only one on
the first page which mentions "Ex" markings is
