A66 Kiln... Firing times?
I have an old A66 kiln that I am trying to get going. Does anyone have
any idea of the firing times for a cone 04? Most of my stuff is 04. I can't seem to find any info on it and Paragon has not answered my email. |

my olympic kiln fires 04 in about 4 hours 35 minutes give or take a
few, but that depends on how long I hold for and how full the kiln is. |

That seems like it would be about right since the A66 is pretty small.
How big and what voltage is your Olympic klin? Do you start on low then turn it up at some point? I've worked with larger kilns before and did it that way but I don't know what to do with this one. Thanks! Meg (paula) wrote in message om... my olympic kiln fires 04 in about 4 hours 35 minutes give or take a few, but that depends on how long I hold for and how full the kiln is. |

my olympic kiln is computerised and pre-set to fire at whatever temp
i want and i can hold at the top also. it is a 50 amp. that is u.k. electrics i do not know what that is in american terms.i also have a smaller paragon kiln that i have to use manually and use mini cones with. i start that one on low for a half hour then turn to medium for an hour then turn to high until it shuts off.the small one runs off a 13 amp socket. if i am in a hurry i can skip the low setting and put straight onto medium and then high (although i would not reccomend this really even though we all do things that are not technically proper)the small kiln fires to 04 in about 3 and a half hours.hope this helps. |
