Somebody in the group made one a few years ago -check the archives. Does
anybody remember her name? My brain is mush, but I do remember the photo
looked great!

You need a regular quilt of the appropriate size. Quilt and bind
normally. Instead of one sleeve on the back, put on 4. That's a sleeve
on every side. The sleeves don't meet exactly at the corners. There's
a few inches of space between them. The boards are flat and have pole
sized circle cut out of the ends. For the ceremony, a board goes
through every sleeve. The boards are joined at the corners. Heavy
twine or wire will do. Then a pole fits through the circular hole.

After the wedding, the hardware comes out, and the quilt can go on a bed
or be hung on the wall.

As for design, images from the Song of Songs or other scripture would be
beautiful--roses, grapes, pomegranates, deer, lilies...

Not I! I think Heidi made one. Or maybe her name comes to mind because she
is a Rabbi. I haven't seen her around RCTQ Land lately though.

There was an article a few years back in one of the quilting magazines but I
don't rmemeber which one. But, I do recall that one had a gorgeous Tree of
Life as the central motif. I love the idea of them, though I hadn't heard of
them until a few years ago.

Education is when you read the instructions. Experience is what you get when
you don't.

Where's our jeanne tonight? She can find everything. We had quite a long
discussion and Show and Tell here a while back. Lots of us who knew very
little about the wedding traditions of other faiths enjoyed the love and
beauty that went into the chuppa creations. Polly
