It would be a lot easier for you to go to the conference then have the
conference come to you.

Hey Vic:

If you are being factious, and I missed the humor, I apologize in
advance. If, however, you mean to suggest that having the Conference in
Louisville in the future is a non-starter, then I wonder about that.
The Conference location has thus far been on the East coast. This is
not surprising given that all but one of the AGG Founders are located in
the Eastern US. It would be nice if the AGG shared the "burden" of
travel in the future and moved the Conference around the country. That
would certainly mix up the attendance and likely improve the quality of
the product.

Me being factious? The SGAA had last years conference in Louisville.
Based on various conferences that are held all over the country
(except Vegas) more people attend the ones East coast. We have been
looking at D.C., Chicago, Pittsburgh and Detroit for future events..
As you said most of the directors are on the East coast. In order to
have a conference you really need to have someone relatively local to
handle the detail work leading up to the conference. If you , or
anyone else would like to help out, let us know. Personally, I would
like to see the AGG conference travel all over.

Hey Vic:

I too am aware of the various other conferences, including the SGAA in
Louisville. I would assume that the poster was asking for the AGG
Conference because of its superior quality grin.

Living in the Midwest, I would like to someday have a AGG Conference
under a 10 hour drive; hence my post supporting Racing John. I also
understand that the AGG is new and most of the board-- volunteers all, I
assume-- would be hard pressed to mount a Conference outside of their
normal sphere of activity. My comment was more to encourage active
members, such as yourself, to lobby for a national vision for future
conferences. Even getting it off the extreme eastern seaboard would be
a step towards including the overall glass community.

All the cities you mentioned would be great for me, but that only gets
the Conference a third of the way across the good ol' USA. Personally,
I'd like to see it in Escalante, Utah (but that's only because I love to
hike in the desert, and it would be a great location to take a trip from
before and after the Conference!).

Realistically, I know that the folks at the AGG are doing their best.
It sounds like a great group and I hope to someday be able to attend a
conference-- closer to my next of the woods. Thanks for listening, Vic.

The SGAA selects it's locations when someone steps up and voluntaries
to host the conference. They try to do East, Central and West in
successive years. As I said if the AGG can get someone to "host" a
conference, meaning do a lot of the leg work such as hotels, Church
tours food etc. Then traveling the conference becomes more realistic.
I hope this can be accomplished.

Why not send your thoughts to the AGg web site . We want to hear as
many ideas as possible.
