Ellice wrote: PS - Sue, you will definitely be welcome 'round the pool at Club Puck for stitchin' or just cooling off during the summer Sounds good! We let our pool membership lapse because it just wasn't worth the big bucks when it was down to one kid making occasional visits. Wish they had an intermittent-use plan! I understand that - we got this house for the yard, pool - and then spent a major fortune to totally redo the pool! But, it's like our own little vacation place all summer - from about mid-May til October - if the weather cooperates. And you're welcome to make the trip down anytime - the pool fridge is always stocked with fruity drinks, hockey refreshment, and cold bottled water (not to mention burgers, kosher dogs, and etc). We have a bar height table, that's comfy for stitchin' , as well as another large dining table. So, depending on whose around - we've sat outside, stitched, swum, etc. I like thinking about this - 'cause right now it's all just one big snowy, slushy, icey mess! ellice |

posted: From: winkydink Not when we went to Flagstaff, NM wasn't colder. It was 2 degrees in AZ up there. ........ Flagstaff elevation is over 7,000 feet and the average snowfall is somewhere around 4 feet! Now THAT is what I call mountains :-)! Our cabin in Heber/Overgaard is only about 6,500 feet and 2 feet of snow a year is a lot! Of course, we are right on the edge of the rim and that moderates the climate somewhat. But down in the Valley? Like I said, Lizard Land (which is right around 1,00 feet elevation) has three seasons -- hot, Hotter & OH MY GOD!!!! LOL - my house in NM was at over 5000' - very clear air, interesting weather. And a 45 min ride to the lifts at Santa Fe ;^) Nothing like being in the hot tub, looking down into the Rio Grande valley, or up at the little mountain beside us, or in the distance to Mt Taylor - with the snow falling on us. But, the run from the tub to the house - with the snowflakes coming down is another story. ellice |
