Ah Cher with an eye specialist in the family, we have been told to
not go that route, because it helps for a little while but after that
there may be all kinds of complications and problems, that cannot be
repaired. Laser treatments for the eyes are so new that there is not
all the much feedback on longtime consequence. I also have slow
growing cataracts in my eyes, and for now they can't do anything
about these as yet. Hey who said that getting old was fun....LOL
For now I just stick with glasses and use what ever aids will
help...LOL

Els,
I had the laser surgery about 12 years ago, and I have had no problems. I
am a very satisfied customer.

I have a cataract in my left eye now. They cut out the lens with a scalpel
(like a grape) and put in an implant. The eye is frozen so one can feel
nothing. They sent me home and the next morning I had to go back. They
took off the patch and I could see clearly) I will get this cataract
fixed on 24th It is the fastest and most efficient op I have ever had

My brother-in-law also had it done about eight years ago, and his eyesight
was so much better *immediately* and I never heard anything about him having
any problems since then either.

My Mum had the cataracts in both her eyes done in the same way O, at
different times, and couldn't speak highly enough of the operation and its
success. She wasn't well enough for a general anaesthetic, but said the
only problem was knowing what was going on!! Glad it worked for you so well
too, and hope the next one is as good

Thanks Christine He gives me a wee bit of sedative so that I am awake but
I don't care))) He said last time that I didn't need it but I disagreed
The eye is frozen and you can neither see nor feel anything.

I have heard negative stories, but mine is not one. Glad that your BIL also
had a good experience.

Hi Katherine
I remember you liking that poem

I goofed on some koolaid dye a couple of months ago and now have some
dark purple and *very* cheery (cherry?) red roving in my stash. The
purple is a smaller amount since it turned out the way I wanted but I
left the red unattended and it went red, not pink.

If you can use it, lemme know! I was going to use it for a thrummed
'something' but probably won't...or I can get some more!

Well, that sounds interesting. I have some thrummed patterns that could use
some brightness.

Higs,
Katherine

Hi Katherine

Bit late today; spent a long time making DS's quilt this morning.

I'll send it to you (the roving, not the quilt)

I think things have come on so much in the last few years regarding this
Katherine, and people over here are having it done all the time now.

don't think I could stand it..playing about with things in my eyes, plus
sudden lights that are wrong gives me visual migraines oh well.

I have a feeling that the one that went wrong over here which was years back
now, was because of the illness the patient had anyway which was coupled
with it. However my friend in London had her catteracts done and was fine,
and apparently she has now had the lazer treatment, and is instantly seeing
things she never could before throughout her whole life and it was instant..

I didnt' mean to be negative about it, but reading what I wrote realise it
did seem that way, when infact I was trying to say, to Els, yes I've heard
of things going wrong..well once..

I think many must have this poem Katherine, I can and will relate to
it as I grow...mind you, at this time of year it is nothing to see me
in the fields with a purple bucket, collecting dye stuff, and as the
year progresses I am there again collecting berries and this time
with a stick..lol
